He currently serves as Senior Packaging Engineer for Vera Bradley and manages their catalogue of e-commerce and retail packaging with special consideration for the transnational movement of the company’s goods in all stages of manufacturing and distribution.

Olivia is co-founder of The Packaging Company, an award-winning, multimillion-dollar online retailer that specializes in stock and short-run custom packaging. Shortly after launching, she led a multi-disciplinary team to win Most Disruptive Startup at the 2017 Canada Post E-commerce Innovation Awards.  

Representing Crownhill Packaging Ltd., Olivia delivers the ongoing multi-part “Digital Marketing in Packaging” seminar for members of Packaging Distributors of America. Her contribution to furthering the organization’s digital presence earned her the 2018 PDA President’s Award. 

Olivia’s background in marketing and brand development provides her with unique insight into the packaging industry. Alongside her colleagues, she recently became co-inventor of patent-pending e-commerce packaging optimizing systems.

Paul Jarrett is a Subscription Box Champion, Midwest entrepreneur, and Co-Founder and CEO of Bulu. After a decade working on ad campaigns for Lowe's and Nike, Paul joined Complete Nutrition and got a taste of startup life. In 2012, Paul co-founded and launched Bulu Box with his wife, Stephanie Jarrett. Bulu Box was the 6th Subscription Box on the market and has since evolved into Bulu - a company that created private label Subscription Boxes for big brands like Disney, Scotts MiracleGro and Clorox. An entrepreneur since fifth grade, Paul Chambers is the Co-Founder and CEO of the Subscription Trade Association.  Paul has extensive expertise in the subscription commerce economy, dating back more than two decades, and has been recognized by national and international publications and media outlets. In his spare time Paul is a firefighter in the City of Troy and loves to spend time with the world's most amazing wife, twin daughters, and two sons.

Tania Montesi’s experience in packaging manufacturing, marketing & innovation spans more than 18 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Hautes Études Commercials (HEC) in Montreal, with focus area in marketing management.  Ambitious and determined, Tania is successful at discovering new customer insights, and developing solutions that fulfill unmet market needs.

Senior Manager, Customer Supply Chain (E-commerce) @ The Hershey Company

Jared joined the Hershey team four years ago to help build their supply chain of the future in an ever more digital world.  In his current role, he is responsible for Hershey’s customer-facing ecommerce supply chain, from product configuration and packaging to distribution and transportation.  He comes from the front lines of ecommerce, having spent five holiday seasons in Amazon warehouses and another two years at the Google ecommerce start up, Google Shopping Express.  In these roles, he has worked as a manager in inbound receiving, last-mile transportation, new warehouse launches, and distribution automation design.

After leading several successful sales organizations in the telecommunications and software space for almost a decade, John began investing in companies predominately in the eCommerce arena. A close college friend was launching BattlBox in early 2015 and John knew he had to be involved, so he invested in it, offering advisement in a limited capacity. 

 BattlBox started to see exponential growth and the demand for John’s time increased. In early 2016, John made the decision to step away from his then sales leadership role with a software company to join the BattlBox team in a full-time capacity. Since joining the team, John has served as the Chief Marketing Officer overseeing all sales, marketing, and technology efforts. 

Since BattlBox, John has been involved in several eCommerce company launches, participated in 2 successful exits, and acquired 3 companies.  Most notably, in July 2019, John lead a team to acquire Carnivore Club and now serves as Managing Partner with the company.

Ron Sasine is the Principal of Hudson Windsor LLC, a boutique consultancy focused on packaging strategy, packaging innovation, and supply-chain transparency. The firm draws on extensive experience in consumer packaged goods and retail merchandising and works with a wide range of packaging manufacturers, private-equity investors, and independent packaging companies. He is the project development lead for Crossroads Paper, the recently announced recycled containerboard mill to be located in the western United States. In addition, Ron is frequently sought out by industry groups to share his insight on issues related to packaging innovation, manufacturing and the evolution of retail.

Director of Creative Services @ Dusobox

Abby Byland is the Director of Creative Services for Dusobox, where she partners with clients, planning their go-to-market initiatives that extend beyond printing which includes; branding, package design, web and marketing strategies and tactics. 

Native to Cincinnati, she has 30 plus years as a marketing communication and a brand strategist, focused on integrated marketing campaigns, from initial conceptualization to creating, planning, and execution of finished deliverables.  She has a no-nonsense approach from taking rough ideas and pure chaos and creating smart, sustainable and relevant solutions. 

With degrees in Communications, Marketing, English Literature and Anthropology from Northern Kentucky University, she is an academic overachiever. Together, with her husband, Tom, they now reside in North Carolina, where they have tended to, or transported over 12,000 neglected animals to forever homes.

Managing Director @ Koenig & Bauer Durst

Robert Stabler is the Managing Director of Koenig & Bauer Durst, the newly formed JV between Koenig & Bauer and Durst based in Germany and targeting the single pass corrugated and folding carton packaging markets utilizing the complimentary core competencies of both companies.

Stabler has a long and successful international career in digital printing at Xerox, where he was responsible for the Graphic Business Group and at HP, where he was responsible for the Production InkJet business in Europe , Middle East and Africa.

He has a keen interest in technology tipping points and how the interplay of different technologies can have far reaching and often unpredictable consequences.

Miriam Brafman is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Packlane, an online printing company that makes it simple and affordable for businesses to design and order custom packaging online. When she built the company in early 2015, there were no opportunities for designers like herself to create beautiful custom packaging for their products in small volumes. Seeing a clear need in the market and with ample design inspiration under her belt, Miriam officially launched Packlane. Since then, Packlane has provided unique packaging solutions for over 30,000 clients of all shapes and sizes.

Golbal Segment Director (Corrugated Packaging & Display Printing) @ DURST

Wolfram Verwuester is a print and business expert with more than 20 years experience in the graphics art and packaging industry. Wolfram is the global Segment Director of Durst Digital Technology, a leading and trusted specialist for industrial inkjet applications. He manages the strategically important Segment of Corrugated Packaging & Display Printing within the Durst Group.

Prior to his career at Durst Group, Wolfram was Sales Director DACH and then seven years as Business Director at Esko, a member of the global science and technology enterprise Danaher, a NYSE Fortune 200 company. In this senior role he led the Packaging Business Division in the heart of Europe. Other important stepping-stones include managerial positions with Esko Artwork, Barco Graphics, as well as with Duropack Packaging (now DS Smith Group).

DR. ANDREW HURLEY

Associate Professor of Packaging Science @ Clemson University 

Andrew coordinates the packaging design curriculum, manages an internationally recognized consumer behavior research lab, and has delivered over 100 presentations on package design globally.

Andrew’s research lab answers complex questions on product marketing and packaging. His experienced group has tested thousands of packages for hundreds of brands. Hurley’s efforts have resulted in multiple awards, patents, and increased sales by 40% for small and large businesses. The success of his lab catalyzed the formation of Package InSight, a full service package design and testing company in Greenville, SC.

 

Andrew is also the lead instructor for Clemson University’s Center for Corporate Learning’s Certificate of Mastery in Packaging Management, a state-of-the-art online curriculum that teaches the necessary business acumen and professional vocabulary to work successfully within the packaging industry.

MICHAEL PELLETIER

Operations Leader & Founder @ Scaling Operations

After an early career in global information services management for CSC in London (UK), Michael was invited to join fast growing secure-ID start-up and moved to Dallas, TX in 2003. This move marks Michael’s first involvement in manufacturing and supply chain management for a digital printing-enabled operation. After 8 years developing as a LEAN practitioner and operations leader for larger print providers, Michael joined BuildASign.com in 2012 to lead its manufacturing and supply-chain operations. The Austin based E-commerce start-up was rapidly disrupting the printed signage industry and setting to do the same in the Home-décor category. Over the next 6 years, with his team, Michael perfected a high-efficiency eCommerce operations model that supported massive growth and delivered over $500MM in direct-to-consumer custom printed products. In 2018, Michael founded Scaling Operations and set out to help other businesses optimize their operations in a variety of industries. Michael lives in Austin with his dinosaurs-obsessed 4-year-old son, and Olive the dog. 

LIZ LOGUE

VP Customer/Brand Engagement & Strategy InkJet @ EFI

Liz Logue became EFI’s VP of Inkjet Customer/Brand Engagement and Strategy in 2019, a new role focused on helping EFI’s digital corrugated customers engage with brands. Logue’s work helps drive market awareness about digital printing and value it brings to the consumers. She also researches and develops strategies to extend EFI’s inkjet technology portfolio into additional new markets that can benefit from the and continuing analog to digital transformation in print manufacturing. 

Prior to taking her current role, Logue was Vice president of Corporate Business Development, and Ink Jet strategy at EFI. In that position, she was responsible for planning, market evaluation and execution behind strategic M&A and new market development activity. Her work has included directing or assisting in EFI’s strategic moves into ceramics, textiles and corrugated packaging, working with engineering, ink and software teams to implement the correct solutions for target markets.  

Prior to joining EFI in 2008, Logue worked for 10 years in various roles at IT Strategies, a specialized strategic consultancy company focused on the digital print industry.  In her roles she advised hardware, ink and software vendors on corporate, product and M&A strategy. She also managed research initiatives, maintained industry relationships and kept abreast of the latest technology developments.

SARAH MEIBURG

Director of Industry Outreach

Sarah is a seasoned marketing professional with extensive experience in consumer research, message platforms, brand strategy and development of integrated marketing campaigns including digital, broadcast, radio and print media executions. As founder and sole owner of Hazelnut Marketing consulting firm and “virtual” agency, her clients included integrated health systems and hospitals. Prior to that, she worked for advertising agencies and in marketing leadership positions for financial institutions and healthcare organizations. 

As Sr. Director of Sales & Marketing for National Spine & Pain Centers, Sarah built the marketing infrastructure and brand platform for NSPC and its affiliates including sales functions, integration and branding of acquired individual practices, and new patient capture and growth. Her expertise includes marketing for consumers, internal communications and B2B audiences. Sarah joined the Paper and Packaging Board, a national consumer campaign for the paper and packaging industry in 2017 as Director of Industry Outreach.
